Tex & James Tour

[06 Jun 2008 posted by: Ritchie]

After The Cruel Sea played a few killer shows throughout Easter, Tex Perkins is hitting the road again - this time just bringing his swag and acoustic guitar. Joining Tex on his travels is good friend and former Cruel Sea cavalier James Cruickshank. Tex and James had some good laughs, some good stories and played some quality shows as they staggered around the country together in December last year. Not satisfied with just that tour, the boys are doing it all over again. Tex Perkins is not one to take a break. In his spare time, he has just finished the recordings for his new studio album, being released through Universal Records this year. This latest recording has left Tex itching to hit the road again. Tex’s perfect accomplice for his travels is James Cruickshank, who has a history of sharing the stage with Tex. Whilst also being an occasional Dark Horse, a regular Blackeyed Susan, and a honorary member of the Mick Harvey and Nick Barker clans. Last July James made a celebrated reappearance onto the music scene with his latest creation Hello Human to glowing national reviews. So check out Tex and James as they make their way along the East Coast to play some classic quality tunes from their back catalogue… and possibly some new tracks too. But be quick as tickets are now on sale.

The Cruel Sea - Bluesfest 2008!

[17 Jan 2008 posted by: Ritchie]

It's been a long time between drinks for the Cruel Sea, but there could be no better way for the iconic Australian outfit to return to the stage than to play the Blues and Roots festival, one of the country's premier music events. It may have been five years since the Cruel Sea hit the live circuit, but fans can be sure the wait will have been worthwhile in what is likely to be the band's only shows of 2008.

Mating Rituals Tour Announced

Dry Spell

[10 Jan 2005 posted by: Ritchie]

2004 is now at an end. And you may have caught Tex at a live show somewhere across the nation. What you didn't do is buy a new music from Tex. That's right for the first time since 1986 Tex has failed to release a CD. In all Tex has put out 26 albums in the last 20 years, an amazing effort and well deserved of a break. But I doubt 2005 will be the same with New material from Tex Don & Charlie bubbling and a live Beasts of Bourbon Disc almost ready to go 2005 looks to be the year of Mr P.
